Following the setting up of a new cooperation agreement, Mr. Nicolas Serres, associate-professor and coordinator of international mobility for the mechanical engineering specialty of INSA Strasbourg went to South Korea from the 5th to the 11th May 2019.

This partnership was signed in January 2019 between the INSA group and K-STAR (Korean Universities for Science & Technology and Advanced Research) , alliance composed of various South-Korean higher education institutions (HEI), namely : KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), DGIST (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology), GIST (Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology), UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) and POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology). These 5 renowned HEIs are public, except of POSTECH which is private. Numerous courses offered at these East Asian universities are similar to the ones taught in the specialties of mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, HVAC & energy engineering of INSA Strasbourg. Courses in English are to be expected in order to facilitate and boost exchanges.

Nicolas Serres and other international mobility coordinators of the INSA group had the opportunity to meet with the presidents and staff members of the international relations offices of the 5 korean universities located in Daejon, Daegu, Ulsan, Phoang and Seoul.

The French Institute of Seoul also welcomed the INSA delegation. Both countries institutional representatives expressed their willingness to support cooperation projects in the field of student and teaching staff exchanges as well as research. The new French-Korean cooperation will undeniably participate to the rise of student exchanges.
